There are a lot of reasons niche marketing is so successful. You may have heard of internet marketing gurus talking about going after a particular niche, or subset, of a larger marketplace. Most of the wealthiest and most successful Internet marketers do exactly that. They focus their every effort on a smaller, targeted group rather than the group’s much larger parent market.
Does that sound backwards to you?
Think about it. If you want to be successful, shouldn’t you market to the largest group of people possible? The “make money online” market is massive. On the other hand, a subset like the “make money online writing about senior health and wellness” is much smaller. So why doesn’t it make sense to try to reach the bigger marketplace?

Analyzing Your Website Traffic
The first level of site traffic data that you will want to look at is the average number of daily, weekly, and monthly visitors. Analyzing your website traffic will give you a basic idea of how much activity your website is getting.
But you need to go deeper than that. You want a large number for average visitors but you also want to know what your visitors do once you get to your site. You also need to see how many pages they visit, which pages they are, and how much time they spend on your site.
If you are getting a lot of “bounces” — that is, people who land on your page for an instant and then click off again — analyzing your website traffic can help you discover why.
The problem could be the look and feel of your site. Consider whether your color-scheme is off-putting. Maybe you have a lot of images and it takes each page a long time to load. People lose interest and leave before they get started.

This internet marketing stuff takes time.
A few months ago, I published a PLR pack on JV Zoo. I was pretty pleased with it. I loved researching and writing it. I’ve been bookish since I was a kid and reading and writing have always been the kind of thing I loved to do. In fact, recently I was doing a guided meditation on motivation. The guide said to think of one of my favorite childhood memories. I remembered a day when my mother took my sisters and me to my aunt’s house to swim in the pool. I took a big stack of books with me and sat by the pool and read. And that was one of my favorite childhood memories.
So researching and writing my PLR pack suited me perfectly. When I published it, I made several hundred dollars. In the several years that I have tried, with greater and lesser fervor, to build an online business, I haven’t been so successful with anything else.
